Google Shopping and Google Ads for online stores
Shopping, Performance Max and search campaigns for Australian stores. We add Google once your Meta ads are profitable and your product feed and tracking are clean. That's when it earns its keep.
Straight up: we don't have an e-commerce Google result to show you yet. Our Google proof so far comes from search campaigns for a builder, and it's here with its label on.

Pro-Build Plus, a Victorian facade remediation company
Construction, not e-commerce. The drop came from cutting the wrong search terms and sending each job type to its own landing page.

The order matters
Why we add Google after Meta.
Meta and Google do different jobs. Meta puts your product in front of people who didn't know they wanted it. Google catches people who are already searching. For most online stores, a lot of that searching starts once the Meta ads are running: more people look up your brand and your product by name, and Shopping is there when they do.
Starting Google on a messy feed or broken tracking mostly buys clicks you can't measure. So we get Meta working first, clean up the feed and the tracking, then add Google where the demand already is.
The exception: if people already search for what you sell in real numbers, the audit will show it, and Google may come first. We'll tell you which one it is.
What Google is good at
- Catching people who search your brand after seeing your Meta ads.
- Shopping ads with your product, price and photo right in the results.
- High-intent searches for the exact thing you sell.
What we set up
Feed first, then campaigns.
Most of the work in Google Shopping happens before a campaign goes live, in the product feed and the tracking.
Merchant Center and the feed
Titles written the way buyers search, correct product types and barcodes, and GST-inclusive prices and shipping that match the store.
Conversion tracking
Purchases sent from Shopify with enhanced conversions, then checked against real orders, the same way we check Meta.
Shopping and Performance Max
Products grouped by best sellers and margin, so the budget goes where the money is.
Brand search
Your own name covered, so a competitor can't buy the customers your Meta ads sent to Google.
Search terms and negatives
Regular search-term reviews and a growing negative list, so you stop paying for searches that were never going to buy.
Every order counted once
Google's numbers sit next to Meta's and Shopify's, so no channel gets credit for the same order twice.
What search taught us
The habits carry over from a builder's account.
In the first month of Pro-Build Plus's Google Ads, too much of the budget went on people researching cladding materials and brands. The people who hire a remediation company are building owners and managers with a problem to fix.
We rebuilt the campaigns around the jobs Pro-Build actually does, sent each one to a landing page built for that job, and kept cutting search terms that didn't fit. That's the cost per enquiry drop at the top of this page.
Shopping runs on the same habits: a clean feed, tight search terms, and every conversion checked before we call it a win.
Where our e-commerce proof lives
Our e-commerce results so far come from Meta, backed by Shopify. You'll find them on the Meta page and in the case studies, with every number labelled.
Meta AdsThe checklist
When we'd add Google for your store.
Usually once most of these are true. The audit tells us where you're at.
- Meta ads are profitable on store-verified numbers.
- Your product feed is approved in Merchant Center, with no disapprovals on your best sellers.
- Purchases are tracked and match your Shopify orders.
- You know your break-even ROAS. Our free calculator works it out with GST and postage in.
- People are searching for your brand or your product type.
Creates the demand that Google then catches.

Do you have e-commerce Google Ads results?
Not yet. Our e-commerce results come from Meta. Our Google results come from search campaigns for a builder. When we have an e-commerce Google result worth showing, it'll go on this page with its window and source.
Shopping or Performance Max?
Often both, set up so you can see what each one is doing. Performance Max is good at finding buyers across Google but shows you less, so it needs clean product data and a close eye on store sales. Standard Shopping gives more control over specific products.
Can we start with Google instead of Meta?
Sometimes. If people already search for your product by name in decent numbers, Google can come first. For most new or growing brands the searches don't exist yet, so Meta goes first to create them.
Who owns the Google Ads and Merchant Center accounts?
You do. Both stay in your name, and ad spend is paid straight to Google by you. We work with manager access, so the history and the data stay with your business.
We already have someone running Google. Is that a problem?
No. If it's working, we won't touch it for the sake of it. We'll make sure Google and Meta report against the same Shopify orders, so nobody claims the same sale twice.

Fill in a few details and I'll go through your ads, your website or store, and how you follow up enquiries, then show you what's leaking and what we'd fix first. If we're not a fit, no worries at all. You'll still leave with something you didn't know before.
