AI development for Australian online stores

Most stores add another app every time they hit a wall, then pay for it every month. When an app can't do the job, we build what you actually need: a Shopify Function, a portal, a dashboard or an automation.

The same team runs your ads, so every build is judged on one question: does it help the store sell, or save someone hours?

Build or buy

When an app can't do the job.

The Shopify App Store is brilliant, and we always check it first. If an app does the job well for a fair monthly fee, install it and keep your money.

Some problems don't fit an app, and they're usually the expensive ones, because they sit where your business is different.

On the audit I'll tell you whether it's worth building. Often the answer is a setting, or an app you already pay for.

A custom build usually makes sense when

  • The rule is specific to you: trade pricing, partner rewards, delivery zones, or bundles that need to behave a certain way.
  • You're paying for three apps glued together, and the glue keeps breaking.
  • Someone on the team spends hours a week copying data from one system into another.
  • Nobody trusts the numbers, because the ad platform, the store and the spreadsheet all disagree.

What we've built

Built for the stores we run.

Each one started as a problem a client raised on a call.

Trade partner portal and warranty claims

Nuracom works with trade partners as well as its own store. We built a partner portal with a rewards ledger, so each partner can log in and see where they stand.

Next to it sits a warranty claim form that collects the order, the unit and the fault in one go, so a claim doesn't turn into five emails.

  • A login for each partner, and one ledger the whole team can see.
  • Both sit next to the Shopify store and use its order data.

A checkout Function and a tracking sync

Shopify Functions change how checkout behaves with Shopify's own tools, no third-party app in the middle. For Nuracom we wrote one that shows a single, clear delivery option.

We also built a shipping-tracking sync: tracking numbers come back from the courier into Shopify, so nobody copies them across by hand.

  • Delivery, payment and discount rules written as Functions, which Shopify supports long term.

Home show lead console

Home shows are where a lot of people first see Nuracom's product. We built a simple console for the stand plus QR sign-up pages, feeding Klaviyo with each lead tagged by show and day.

The follow-up emails are on the email and SMS page.

Captured through the console

356 leads from two home shows in four weeks. Melbourne, 21 to 23 Aug, and Brisbane, 11 to 13 Sep 2026.

Pixel reconciliation and revenue feeds

Ad platforms over-report, so every month we match what Meta says it sold against real orders, one at a time.

Where a sale happens out of the pixel's sight, like a payment taken in person, we send the real value back to Meta through the Conversions API.

Why Meta purchases don't match Shopify orders

Migration tooling and new-customer attribution

Moving Rick Grant's Gluten Free off Ecwid meant pulling 369 reviews out of the old platform, so we wrote the tooling to do it.

A share of new-customer revenue needs brand-new customers separated from returning ones. We built that attribution, and it's how this figure was counted.

AI, used properly

Where AI earns its place.

We use AI tools every day to write code faster and check data. That speed shows up in the quote. What we won't do is bolt a chatbot onto your store because it sounds modern.

Sometimes AI is the product. For Brisbane Hair Clinic we built a private preview tool: upload a photo, see an AI preview of your hairline after scalp micropigmentation, then book a consultation.

Either way the test is the same: if it doesn't help someone buy or save someone time, we don't build it.

How a build works

Every build starts with a fixed quote.

How we work, in full
  1. 01

    Scope

What it has to do, written down in plain words before any code gets written.

  2. 02

    Fixed quote

Build work is a fixed quote: 50% deposit, 50% on launch. No hourly meter.

  3. 03

    Build and test

Built in your Shopify and your accounts, then tested on real orders before anyone relies on it.

  4. 04

    Hand over

You own the code and the data. We document it, and look after it if you'd like us to.

What do you mean by AI development?

Custom software for your store, built with AI tools doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Sometimes the finished thing uses AI, like the clinic preview tool. More often it's a Shopify Function, a portal or an automation that quietly does its job.

Why not just use an app?

Often you should, and we'll say so. We build when the rule is specific to your business, when apps are fighting each other, or when the monthly fees outrun a one-off build.

Who owns what you build?

You do. It's built in your Shopify store and your accounts, and the code and data stay yours if we ever part ways.

What happens when Shopify changes something?

Functions and apps built on Shopify's own tools are the supported way to customise a store, so they're far less fragile than theme hacks. On a partnership we keep an eye on them.

How much does a custom build cost?

It depends on the build, so it's a fixed quote once we've scoped it: 50% deposit and 50% on launch. If a monthly app would do the job for less, I'll tell you that instead.

Can you work with our existing developer?

Yes. We can build alongside them or hand over documented code. Some stores keep their developer for the theme and use us for ads, tracking and email builds.

Free audit, then your Scaling Roadmap

It's time to get Scaled.

Fill in a few details and I'll go through your ads, your website or store, and how you follow up enquiries, then show you what's leaking and what we'd fix first. If we're not a fit, no worries at all. You'll still leave with something you didn't know before.
